Exporting Vietnamese Laborers to South Korea
in the Period 1992 - 2016
Abstract: Labor migration stemming from the need to export and
import labor is becoming a common phenomenon on a global scale. Northeast Asian
countries and territories in general and Republic of Korea (RoK) in particular
are key markets for Vietnam's labor export activities. From 1992 to 2016, the
number of Vietnamese workers migrating to Korea fluctuated continuously, with
diverse occupations. Labor export activities to Korea have contributed to
solving urgent socio-economic issues of Vietnam, namely labor - employment -
raising income.
